Together, we can create a list of daily affirmations that can be used to fight back against the lies in our heads. I'll go first:
Our bodies are the creation of an INTENTIONAL and LOVING Father.
redefine [v]: to give a new or different definition
This space was created to help build a recovery community, not just for those actively recovering from an eating disorder, but also for those who act as a team member for someone in recovery.
Every month I will post a journal question or prompt to each forum [one for those actively recovering, and the other for their team members]. I encourage you to engage as you feel comfortable - whether that is commenting on the post, reflecting in your own journal, or turning the idea over in your mind. The idea is that this will give us something to focus on or work on as the month goes by, hopefully helping us to truly participate in our recovery or in the life of one recovering. Additionally, it offers a space where we can learn from each other [habits, tools, resources, etc.], ask questions and find answers, and encourage one another as we pursue recovery TOGETHER as a community.
Quite simply because we are stronger together. Eating disorders are by nature secretive and work best in your isolation, let's not let them have that chance. Its time to start taking away their power.
I read "loving someone with an eating disorder" which significantly helped my early relationship!
